What to include on Your School App

There are a variety of features and benefits to include on Your School App. We have listed some of them below. Keep in mind that sometimes with an App less is more. We can walk you through what schools have found useful. We have worked with a large number of schools over the years and know what works!

App Features and Menu Items

There are an endless number of features and tabs that you can add to Your School App. We will highlight some of those below. Keep in mind that you can link the app to any website or web page as well.
Push Notifications and the Message Tab are singlehandedly the most important feature you will have on your App. School announcment are literally a text message away.

  • Push Notifications

    Instant Communication
    Push Notifications are basically text messages that you send out. These messages can be for team announcements, school closures, schedule change, bus cancellations, school news, etc...
     
    These can be sent instantly or scheduled to go out at on a certain date and time.

  • Event Calendar

    Coming events
    Add all of your schools events within Your School App. These can include any detail required and also be integrated to the phones GPS system for turn by turn directions to anything that is off-site.
     
    These events can also be automatically synced to the users phone calendar either the push of an icon.

  • Absentee Reporting

    Report an Absence
    Make it easy for parents to let the office know that their child will be missing school directly from the app. Morning hours are busy in a school office. Simplify the routine for you office personnel by allowing parents to report their child’s absence the absentee reporting form.
     
    Free up time for all involved by streamlining this process.

  • Student Handbook

    Save Printing Costs
    Save printing costs by only printing out a small number of student handbooks. Direct the students and parents to Your Phone App for access to the annual publication. This helps you stay green and keeps them from ending up in the recycle bin.

  • Contact Information

    Contacting the school is only a tap away with Your School App. You can find all the pertinent information and links via the app's contact tab. You will find email, one-touch calling, website, email and school hours all under the contact tab.

  • Activity Maps

    Our Location Tab allows you to include any points of interest within the community that have school events happening. This feature links directly to the phones GPS system. It will give the user turn by turn directions to any event that you want to include. School sporting events, musicals, meetings, staff luncheons, etc.. The choices are endless

Additional Features:

Some other features you may want to include are School Board links and news, general contact form, Newsletter sign up, Image gallery, School Uniforms, Guidance and Student services section, University and College Information, School Cash, and more. The choice is really up to the individual schools what they deem to be important and revelvant to have within their App.

Once Your School App is live and avliable in the App Stores, you can keep it updated through our Custom Built content Management System (CMS). You can add events, send push notifications, newsletters, downloadalbe and printiable forms etc... all from the comfort of your own laptop or computer.
